- Serengeti, a UNESCO world heritage site, is home to around 200,000 zebras, and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelles that join the wildebeests’ trek for fresh grazing. Listen to the exotic sounds of over 6 million hooves pounding the open plains of Serengeti just like how you imagined African wildlife to be. Part 1
- Mid-Range: Land of Nature Tented Camp or similar on Full Board (located inside the park)
- Luxury: Serengeti Serena Lodge on Full Board (located inside the park)
- After breakfast, we head to the Ngorongoro Crater. We will descend 600 m into this magnificent crater for a full-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world’s most densely crowded African wildlife areas. It is home to an estimated 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a wide variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense predator population, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot.
- Maasai boma visit: Pay a visit to one of the famous Maasai bomas, where you’ll have the opportunity to witness (and participate in) traditional Maasai dance, tour an authentic Maasai village, and even do a little souvenir shopping at the local market. Both of the above activities attract an additional cost. Speak with your safari expert about adding them to your itinerary. You’ll then retire to your accommodations for dinner and a good night’s sleep.
