- This day hike is designed for those who do not wish to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro up to the top and yet want to experience the magic of the Mountain for a day hike from Marangu Gate (1,800m/5,905ft) to the first hut Mandara Hut(2,743m/9,000ft). This hike to the first hut will allow you to have a feel of the mountain for one day. Children are also allowed to do the Kilimanjaro day hike the world's highest freestanding Mountain without taking them all the way to the top.

Day 1 : Arusha to Kilimanjaro Np
- Our guide will meet with you at your stay in Arusha one day before the hike to give a short briefing for the next day hike. Then the next day you will be picked-up early morning at 6:00 am just after breakfast at your hotel or stay in Arusha, with picnic lunch then we drive to Marangu gate 1800M AMSL for registration. On a clear day the mountain can be seen as you drive-in. This 4-5 hrs hike. The hike will take you through the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro walking through fascinating rain forests till you reach the first hut Mandara Hut 2700M Above the sea level. Lunch will take place at the hut then later we start descending back to the gate and drive back to Arusha and drop off at the place of your choice.
- Meals: Picnic Lunch at the hut.Walking distance: 4-5hrs, 8km.
- On your Daypack, you need to carry items like extra clothing, Snacks, hats, Sunglasses & Wipes.
- Both kinds of weather can complicate matters so be prepared to trek all types of weather.
- Bring a camera for pictures
- Visas are required when traveling to Tanzania, Foreigners may apply for a visa online in advance of travel
- A passport valid for a minimum of six months beyond visa insurance and/or date of entry
- Yellow fever vaccination is required for all travelers arriving from or having transited through countries where yellow fever is endemic
